What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fertilizer Technician position at Elite Lawn Care?
The Grass Fertilizer Technician is responsible for the application of fertilizer and other soil treatments to lawns and green spaces. This position requires a person who is detail-oriented, has the ability to work independently, and has excellent verbal communication skills.
This is a self-manage type of position. You will set your own route and your own schedule. Come work for a company that you can grow with!

Responsibilities:
1. Communicate well with customers and other technicians
2. Provide accurate estimates for the cost of fertilization services
3. Maintain detailed records of fertilization services provided to customers, including notes on customer comments and feedback from observations
4. Identify areas that need to be fertilized or treated with other soil treatments, based on observations and customer feedback
5. Perform all types of fertilization services, including aeration, seeding, overseeding, top dressing, and fertilizing with organic products or synthetic products
Qualifications:
- Must be able to speak write and read English
- Be licensed in the state of IL for pesticide/weed control
- Have a valid IL driver's license in good standing, no major issues (DUI, Major accidents)
- Have knowledge of different grass types in the area, and be able to identify those types
- General knowledge of turf grass-related issues, diseases, insects
- have knowledge and experience identifying and curing these types of issues
- Have knowledge of different weed types in the area, and be able to identify those types
- Have knowledge and experience in using different types of products to treat, or prevent weed types.
- Must have knowledge of operating hose reel and ride-on sprayer systems
- Must have knowledge of properly calibrating all the equipment you use.
- Must have knowledge of storing and mixing different solutions and chemicals
- Must have good math skills in order to determine proper calibration rates and mix rates/ratios
- Must be very good with technology and using a computer system.
- This position is M-F, with Saturday as needed. Must be available to work 7 am -5 pm
