Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, ensuring timely deliveries, and optimizing fleet operations. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Oversee daily dispatch operations, ensuring efficient routing and scheduling of vehicles.
- Utilize GPS and transportation management systems to monitor fleet performance and optimize routes.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including delivery schedules and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Implement best practices in fleet management and logistics to enhance service delivery.
- Utilize phone systems and GIS technology to support dispatching efforts.
- Uphold high standards of phone etiquette while interacting with clients and drivers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dispatching or logistics management is preferred.
- Familiarity with fleet management, 3PL (third-party logistics), and supply chain processes is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GPS technology and transportation management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in using phone systems and maintaining professional communication standards.
- Knowledge of GIS tools is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
