What are the responsibilities and job description for the PART-TIME SHUTTLE DRIVER position at Elite Parking Services of America Inc?
This is a part-time/fill-in driver position, but it could lead to a full-time position.
Weekly hours are not guaranteed, but sometimes you may work anywhere from 1 day to the entire week.
This would be a great job for someone who is a retired CDL driver looking to make some extra money!
Key Qualification Skills Required
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship, communications (both oral and written), customer service, and organization skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, stressful environment and possess the flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.
- Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation per Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
- Ability to perform vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness of shuttle interiors, fuel buses, log trip counts, and assist disabled passengers.
- Safety and professionally transport customers from point A to point B.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing in all units of measure. Ability to make correct change for customers.
- Ability to operate equipment such as hand-held computers, cellphones and other equipment as required.
- Ability to use company designed software on hand-held device.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of all areas of the designated area including landmarks, major streets and highways.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet operational needs.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and lift and/or move equipment up to 75 pounds
- Any other duties as assigned by the Shift or Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities of this Position Include
- Deliver exceptional customer service and meets customer’s needs at all times.
- Understand and respond appropriately to customer problems or complaints while maintaining a refined and polite demeanor.
- Safely and professionally transport employees from their designated parking areas to their place on work on time.
- Courteously assist customers by answering any questions they may have. If necessary, direct the customers to your Supervisor or the General Manager for further assistance.
- Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards, or any unusual occurrence to your Supervisor and General Manager immediately.
- Communicate debris, water, oil spills, etc. observed on roadways and in parking areas to your Supervisor and General Manager.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of all areas of the parking areas and major streets, landmarks, and highways in and surrounding downtown Jacksonville, FL.
- Communicate by telephone, two-way radio, and in person in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Arrive to work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform, maintaining a neat, professional appearance at all times.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures, and practices; and supports Company loss prevention efforts.
Certification and License Requirements Include
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid Class B CDL Class Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement, per DOT regulations
- Minimum one year of experience with CDL Class driver's license preferred
- Driving record that indicates no major traffic violations in past three years is required
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is required
- Drivers are required to be 21 years or older for insurance purposes
Ideal Candidate Characteristics Include
- Previous Customer Service experience
- Shuttle bus vehicle maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge on all Microsoft Suite products
