Pest Control Technician - Experienced

PRIOR PEST CONTROL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION

As a Pest Control Technician you are responsible for identifying, selecting, mixing, and applying chemical or manual solutions to get rid of pests. Identifies pest problem and appropriate solution, applies chemical or trap, and removes dead rodents.

• Ideal candidates would live in Licking, Franklin, or Fairfield counties, due to the commute. We service the Columbus, OH area.

We are currently offering a $1000 signing bonus.

Job Responsibilities

• Pass state required testing to acquire licensing to apply pesticides residentially and commercially (if applicable).
• Inspects buildings and premises for signs of pests or infestation.
• Identifies the pest and the best ways to control and remove it.
• Identify invading pests, including rats, termites, wasps, ants, spiders, mosquitos, or bed bugs etc.
• Measures the dimensions of the area needing treatment.
• Estimates the cost of services.
• Access pest infested areas.
• Study preliminary reports and diagrams of infested area and determine treatment type required to eliminate and prevent recurrence of infestation.
• Spray chemical solutions, powders, and gases on or near surfaces of a building or house to eliminate pests.
• Works both indoors and outdoors and often in tight spaces that may require crawling, kneeling or climbing to high heights on a ladder.
• Uses baits and set traps to remove or kill pests.
• Applies pesticides in and around buildings and other structures.
• Designs and carries out pest management plans.
• Drives trucks equipped with power spraying equipment.
• Creates barriers to prevent pests from entering a building.
• Drives truck equipped with power spraying equipment.
• Educates clients on techniques for reducing pest problems.
• Remove dead rodents after extermination.
• Cuts or bores openings in building or surrounding concrete, access infested areas, insert nozzle, and inject pesticide.
• Complies with all safety and environmental laws and regulations.
• Perform inspections on homes for wood destroying insects.
• Must be able to wear a respirator for certain pest applications.
• Calculate amounts of proper chemical for mixing solutions.
• Cleans work site after completion of job.
• Maintains accurate records.

Skills Required

• Must be detail oriented and be able to follow detailed instructions in applying pesticide to avoid harm to the client and self
• Possess good customer service skills and be customer focused
• Must have a strong ability to keep good records of hours worked, chemicals used, and payment collected
• Must possess a team spirit and be able to work well in a team environment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, and possess good interpersonal skills
• Have good time and process management skills
• Must be trustworthy as duties are mostly discharged without the physical presence of the client
• Must have good organizational skills
• Must have a willing spirit to learn new things and be teachable.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs or more.

Job Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Clean driving record
• Current drivers license
• Pass background check and Drug Screening
• Transportation to and from work
• Highschool Diploma or GED
• Prior Pest Control Technician Experience (Required)
• Customer Service Experience (Preferred)

Hours

Monday - Friday

• 7:00am - 6:00pm

Ocassional Saturday work.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour starting and then once fully licensed 20% of monthly production pay
