Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The Certified Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of pharmaceutical practices and a commitment to patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
- Accurately measure, count, and label medication for prescriptions.
- Process prescription orders using the pharmacy’s management system.
- Perform medication reconciliation and verify prescription details.
- Maintain patient records, including prescription histories and insurance information.
- Provide exceptional customer service, including answering inquiries and resolving issues.
- Assist in managing pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and organizing medications.
- Follow all pharmacy policies and procedures, including those related to safety and security.
- Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines set by regulatory bodies and the pharmacy.
- Support pharmacists with administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from a recognized certification board (e.g., PTCB or NHA).
- Valid state pharmacy technician license (
- Previous experience working as a pharmacy technician preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, dosage calculations, and medication uses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and technology.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience with PioneerRX is preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as data entry and packaging medications.
