Job Summary:
The CNC Machine Programmer is responsible for creating and refining CNC programs, setting up machining equipment, and ensuring the efficient and accurate production of components. This role requires a deep understanding of CNC machining processes, proficiency in programming languages, and a commitment to meeting quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for various machining operations, including milling, turning, and drilling, based on engineering drawings and models.
- Utilize CAM software to create toolpaths and generate CNC code.
- Analyze job orders, engineering blueprints, and specifications to determine the most efficient machining process.
- Set up CNC machines, including loading cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and machining parameters for each job.
- Conduct trial runs to ensure the accuracy of the programmed instructions.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to CNC programs, tooling, or machine performance.
- Implement corrective actions to address programming errors, tool wear, or other factors affecting production.
- Work closely with machinists, engineers, and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and solve complex machining challenges.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a CNC Machine Programmer in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code) and experience with CAM software.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Pay will be based on experience.
