Responsibilities

- Utilize coding systems, including ICD-10 and DRG, to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Follow up on unpaid claims, resolving any discrepancies or issues with insurance providers.
- Maintain accurate patient billing records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in patient information or billing details.
- Assist in the management of medical collections, ensuring timely payments from patients and insurers.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG coding systems, and medical records management.
- Familiarity with medical collection processes and insurance verification procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
