Job Title: Quality Control Manager (Traveling Positions)
Salary Range: $80,000 to $95,000

Job Overview:
We are seeking experienced Quality Control Managers to join our dynamic and growing team. These roles involve travel to job sites, focusing on upcoming projects in South Carolina and Georgia. Successful candidates will have a background in federal construction, a strong commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to foster collaboration among project teams and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Quality Control Manager, you will:
- Coordinate and Supervise:
- Oversee subcontractors and craft activities to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Enforce site safety protocols and contractor quality control measures.
- Quality Control and Safety:
- Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with federal and project-specific standards.
- Implement and maintain the Quality Control Plan, following the Army Corps Three Phases of Control.
- Ensure all submittals, materials, and testing comply with contract requirements.
- Document and address safety concerns, incidents, and near-misses promptly.
- Ensure timely and effective preventive and corrective actions are implemented.
- Inspections and Compliance:
- Conduct pre-final and final inspections, develop punch lists, and ensure deficiencies are corrected.
- Coordinate and document testing results for water, soil, materials, and mechanical systems.
- Certify compliance of all phases of construction with government and contract standards.
- Customer Interaction:
- Perform daily/weekly on-site customer interface and ensure clear, consistent communication.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in U.S. Federal Government construction contracts (NAVFAC/USACE).
- 10 years of vertical construction experience preferred, including 5 years managing projects over $1M.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, including plans, scheduling, and testing.
- Certifications:
- Certification in Construction Quality Management for Contractors (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers).
- 30-hour OSHA construction safety certification (or equivalent) and current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Proficiency in key safety areas: Excavation, Scaffolding, Fall Protection, and Confined Space.
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable with public speaking.
- Familiarity with USACE EM-385-1 standards and other occupational safety requirements.
- Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance; Secret Clearance preferred.
- Commercial and industrial project experience is essential.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to navigate and work at construction sites, including climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and navigating uneven terrain.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to travel frequently via air or car to project locations.
