Elite Security Group LLC (ESG) Armed Guard Job Description

Responsibilities: ESG Guards are responsible for the day to day security operations at the Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City. Many of these specific duties are detailed through the Department of Homeland Security, The Federal Aviation Administration and Airport Policies and Procedures. This is an armed position. Candidates must have a current Concealed Pistol License, a clean driving record and no criminal history that would disallow employment. This position requires walking, standing and the ability to be able to lift up to 50lbs. Candidates must also pass required trainings specific to this location including firearms qualifications

Work Experience: Previous experience in security services is desired but not mandated

Skills/Education: Candidate is always alert and focused on their surroundings.

Candidate must be honest and constantly show integrity in their job functions.

Candidate must be physically fit, have excellent communication skills with the ability to serve the clients, customers and passenger’s needs, and of course must be leader and team player.

Candidate must be highly trained in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to multi task and to think and respond efficiently.

Candidate must be a high school graduate or equivalent educational experience.

Candidate must be 21 years of age or older.

Candidate must have a CPL.

Candidate must have a vail driver license.

Duties

• Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
• Operate and maintain surveillance equipment, including CCTV systems, to ensure comprehensive coverage of the premises.
• Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, assessing situations and taking appropriate action.
• Enforce security policies and procedures while providing excellent customer service to clients and visitors.
• Conduct regular inspections of property to identify potential security risks or hazards.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary, providing detailed reports on incidents as required.
• Provide first aid assistance when needed, ensuring the safety of individuals on-site.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with best practices in security operations, including CPR certification.

Requirements

• Proven experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is preferred.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of surveillance techniques and loss prevention strategies.
• Excellent conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to operate surveillance equipment effectively (CCTV experience is a plus).
• Strong observational skills with attention to detail.
• Must possess a valid armed security officer license as required by state regulations.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as part of the hiring process.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

• Holidays
• Overnight shift

• Weekends as needed
