WEEKEND SHIFT UNARMED SECURITY OFFICER

Unarmed Security Officers must have the ability to clear a BCI background check. De-escalation skills are required and punctuality is a must! Preference is given to OPOTA 20-hour certified applicants.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This weekend position is for a night shift officer. Friday and Saturday availability each week is a must. Potential to obtain additional shifts, is possible, if necessary.

Unarmed Security Officers are responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of your assigned post. Unarmed Security Officers are tasked with patrolling a designated area, responding to safety and security threats, and establishing a security presence. Unarmed Security Officers may be asked to perform many essential functions and duties at their assigned post to include, but not limited to:

• Assume overall responsibility for the safety and security of designated areas.
• Patrol designated areas in accordance with established security procedures.
• Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly.
• Complete Incident Reports and required documentation for all security incidents.
• Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all personnel, visitors and post.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas promptly and according to policy.
• Assist employees and visitors with any concerns they might have.
• Escalate emergency situations to Law Enforcement as necessary.
• Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must have the ability to clear a BCI background check.
• Preferred: Baton Permit, Chemical Agent Permit, TASER Certification (Optional)
• Must be able to meet and continue to meet all Ohio security licensing requirements for Unarmed Security Officers.
• One (1) year of security experience, or former military (with Honorable Discharge), or former Law Enforcement.
• Working knowledge of basic security techniques.
• Availability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Comfortable kneeling, carrying, bending, walking and standing for extended periods of time.
• Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing.
• Neat and professional appearance, in accordance with established company standards.
• Ability to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to wear issued uniform.
• No Misdemeanor or Felony Convictions.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to pass background check.

REQUIRED TRAINING AND EDUCATION

• Please submit any training certificates
• Officers with OPOTA Armed Certificates will be given preference.

AVAILABILITY

• This weekend position is for a night shift officer, for Friday and Saturday each week. Potential to obtain additional shifts, is possible, if necessary.
• Unarmed posts only. Daily location may vary.
• Unarmed Security Officers will be offered a part-time position with full-time options possible upon successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
• Promotional opportunities may be available for the right individuals.

EMPLOYER OFFERINGS

• Weekend Shift Security Officer position salary is based on the individual’s experience. Pay is hourly based ranging between $14.00-$18.00 per hour.
