As an Assistant to the Facility Engineer, the responsibilities include supporting routine and preventive maintenance tasks, troubleshooting building systems, and assisting with repairs. And your primary duty is monitoring facility exercise equipment, conducting safety inspections, repair and replace parts, track and manage maintenance records, ensuring that all work orders and repairs are documented. Reporting to the facility engineer, to provide regular updates on ongoing maintenance issues, escalating any major problems or system malfunctions that require the attention of the Facility Engineer.
Primary Duties
1. Maintenance of Sports Equipment:
- Inspecting equipment for damage, wear, and tear.
- Cleaning and disinfecting gear to maintain hygiene and performance.
- Lubricating and adjusting mechanical components (e.g., roller skates, bicycles, fitness machines).
- Ensuring all equipment meets safety standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Repairs and Upgrades:
- Fixing or replacing broken parts of sports equipment (e.g., replacing damaged gear, fixing holes or tears in equipment).
- Reconditioning used equipment to restore it to an optimal condition.
- Upgrading equipment (e.g., enhancing helmets or padding for better performance or safety).
3. Inventory Management:
- Tracking and managing inventory of sports equipment and accessories.
- Ordering and maintaining stock levels to ensure adequate supplies are always available.
- Keeping records of equipment usage and repairs.
5. Testing Equipment:
- Testing new equipment to ensure functionality and safety standards are met.
- Calibrating machines or devices used for performance analysis (e.g., speedometers, trackers, or measurement tools).
6. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensuring that all equipment meets relevant safety standards, regulations, and guidelines set by governing bodies (e.g., NCAA, NFL, or other sports federations).
- Inspecting safety gear, such as helmets and pads, and replacing any equipment that has failed safety tests or is no longer up to standard.
7. Record-Keeping and Documentation:
· Keeping accurate records of repairs, maintenance, inventory and complete work order (i.e. replying to emails)
- Maintaining service logs for specific equipment to track when they were last serviced or repaired.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Technical skills to work with a variety of sports equipment (e.g., mechanical, electrical, and structural knowledge).
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of sports gear.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety standards.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills to interact with athletes and Team members.
· A willingness to learn and develop skills in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
· Familiarity with tools and equipment used in repair and maintenance tasks.
· Interest in pool and water feature maintenance.
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
· Physical ability to perform hands-on maintenance tasks, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
