JOB TITLE: Lifeguard
JOB SUMMARY : Responsible for implementing, assisting, and enforcing the rules, regulations, and safety guidelines of the pool facility at all times of operation while on duty. Provide back-up support to other areas of the Elite Sports Clubs as needed. The primary responsibility of the lifeguard is the safety of the guests, and to practice customer-friendly interactions to enhance our guests’ swim experience each and every time they use the facility. Secondary duties include pool, deck, and general maintenance; and the conducting of programs and involvement in other forms of appropriate instruction and special events. Lifeguards are responsible for keeping themselves physically fit and their rescue skills at audit quality levels as set forth by Elite Sports Clubs standards.
JOB DUTIES
- Scan pool area consistently and attentively in order to detect safety concerns and practice preventative life guarding in order to maintain safety of all customers at all times.
- Conduct self in a professional manner, understand, and relate to guests while using the pools: explain the “why” when enforcing pool regulations.
- Monitor and interact with guests: use logic and common sense to ensure equitable use by all parties.
- Patrol pool areas to maintain cleanliness and to help maintain facility and equipment. Perform daily maintenance duties as directed. Our goal is to have the pool look new at all times.
- Attend mandatory training and in-service meetings without fail. Your involvement in the constant improvement of your skills, of our aquatics facility and Elite Sports Clubs is a requirement, and a privilege.
- Work at special events and rentals as requested.
- Test pool environment for proper chemical and environmental measures as required by state and local health codes.
- Display intimate knowledge of pool safety and strive to assist other team members and customers in gaining and appreciating this knowledge.
- Always practice good accident prevention techniques and develop instinctive abilities to react quickly if an accident occurs. Our goal is to prevent accidents at all times.
- Demonstrate the ability to swim for long distances (a minimum of 500 continuous meters), coupled with outstanding lifesaving technique. Elite Sports Clubs believe its members deserve the highest quality guards anywhere.
- Must develop and employ the ability to use highly effective interpersonal and communication skills with all customers and team members they come into contact with.
- Qualified guards must possess, and keep current, all appropriate certifications and licenses as required to fulfill their responsibilities, i.e.: Lifeguard, CPR Pro and First Aid certifications.
- Guards must demonstrate the ability to consistently pass Lifeguard Emergency Drills rescue skills and first aid proficiency test as administered by supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
- Arrive to work every day, on time, as scheduled. Always adhere to uniform code and parking policies. Be a good team player.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal pool and office conditions
Qualifications and Perks!
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in aquatics. American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR Pro, AED, and First Aid required. Previous experience working with children preferred.
