Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:30am to 5:00pm, Saturdays likely during peak season. Hours and days can vary based upon Owner/GC

POSITION SUMMARY
This position must have knowledge of all types of Asphalt Paving (Municipal, Commercial, Federal Government, DOT, and Patching) as this person will be responsible for the supervision of their Asphalt Paving Crew along with performing other various duties on RME construction projects as needed. The Foreman handles the majority of aspects related to equipment and personnel management on site. Make decisions pertaining to production on a daily basis. Work alongside estimators, operations, operators, laborers, inspectors, and testing firms, and must have the capability to train operators and manually complete any activity

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Ability to demonstrate success in managing and/or leading asphalt paving crew members.
- Maintain ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and qualify for company auto insurance.
- Plan, organize or direct activities concerned with the placement of Asphalt Paving
- Ability to efficiently operate and/or train on the following equipment or equivalent to.
Asphalt Laydown Machine – CAT AP1055F or AP655F;
Asphalt Compaction Equipment CAT CB54 or CB534, CAT PS150 or CW16; CATCB44 or CB434; CAT CC34; CAT CB34
- Knowledge of best paving practices and understanding different mix types with compaction, and rolling patterns.
- Review and comprehend job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
- Independently make decisions regarding production on a daily basis.
- Assists paving crews with various duties such as: Shoveling, Raking, Safely Backing of Dump Trucks into Paver, Operating Asphalt Paving Equipment.
- Assists in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.
- Confer with operations, owners, or general contractors to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
- Inspect or review project to monitor compliance with safety codes, policies, and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
- Ensure we are providing a safe, clean and quality work site.
- Perform other duties within the company as needed.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education : High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience
- Five plus years related experience
- Demonstrated success in managing employees and/or leading a crew
- Some experience creating, working within and/or administering an assigned budget, preferred or ability to learn same.
Certificates & Licenses
OSHA 30hour course or completion of the OSHA 30 hour course prior to the start of employment. Federal OSHA 30 hour Construction course completed within 5 years of the date of hire, or completion of the course before starting employment with RME and CPR/First Aid Safety training, or completion of the certifications prior to employment.
Other Requirements
Clean Driving record and the ability to pass a background investigation, and drug screening.
