Full-Stack Software Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to help build a state-of-the-art Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) platform . This platform is designed to enable large-scale carbon sequestration projects , tackling climate change at an unprecedented scale.
As part of our technology team , you will work directly with the founders , contributing to innovative solutions that merge science, engineering, and real-world impact .
What You’ll Do
- Develop & scale the MRV platform to support carbon removal initiatives.
- Work across frontend (React, TypeScript) and backend (Python, FastAPI) .
- Design and build data pipelines, CI / CD workflows, and DevOps infrastructure .
- Write and maintain comprehensive documentation .
- Collaborate with the Deployment Operations team to gather real-time feedback.
- Travel to project locations in Brazil as needed.
- Work closely with scientists to automate and productize scientific processes.
What We’re Looking For
3–5 years of experience in full-stack development ( frontend, backend, and cloud ).
Proven track record of shipping products , especially in startup environments and 0-to-1 projects .
Strong skills in Python (FastAPI) and TypeScript (React or similar) .
BS / MS / PhD in Computer Science or a related field .
Experience in both big tech and mission-driven startups is a plus.
Ability to manage the full product development cycle , from inception to iteration.
Comfortable working on-site in San Francisco or São Paulo .
Experience collaborating with engineering, design, science, and operations teams .
Passion for staying up to date with new frameworks and tools .
Bonus Points If You Have
Experience working in multidisciplinary, science-heavy teams (e.g., healthcare software).
Background in building software for physical-world applications (e.g., logistics, aerospace, construction).
Founding team or open-source contribution experience.
Passion for climate tech , with a demonstrated commitment (e.g., blog writing, research, or personal projects).
