Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of key projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will utilize standard project management practices, such as the PMI framework, to ensure successful project outcomes. This role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating resources, tracking project progress, mitigating risks, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and sponsors. A professional project management certification is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Coordination:
- Design, plan, and coordinate work teams to achieve project objectives.
- Create detailed project charters and work plans, ensuring alignment with business and technical goals.
- Track budgets, schedules, and progress using appropriate metrics.
- Risk & Issue Management:
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure their effective implementation.
- Track issues and remove barriers to ensure project success.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans.
- Maintain consistent communication with project sponsors and stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Build and lead high-performing teams, clearly defining roles and responsibilities.
- Assign tasks, evaluate outcomes, and provide technical support to team members as needed.
- Foster collaboration and resolve resource allocation challenges through negotiation.
- Scope, Quality & Performance Management:
- Define and manage project scope to ensure deliverables meet business needs.
- Establish methodologies to ensure quality, productivity, and consistency across all project phases.
- Direct corrective actions to address any performance deviations.
- Project Execution & Reporting:
- Oversee all aspects of project execution, ensuring deadlines and responsibilities are met.
- Monitor and summarize project progress in reports for executives and upper management.
- Present project status updates in program steering meetings.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in managing complex projects, with expertise in coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and SDLC frameworks.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in tracking tools and software for managing schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present project updates to stakeholders and executives.
- Ability to operate independently, make decisions, and handle challenging environments effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with specific PC, workstation, operating systems, applications, or platforms as required by the project.
- Experience managing application systems and technical design implementation.
