Elizabeth Academy is a not-for-profit, independent private model school dedicated to inclusive Montessori education. With over 200 students spanning from infants to middle school, we're at the forefront of inclusive education and Montessori best practices in Utah. We're currently in search of an Assistant Director of Special Education to join our inclusive Montessori team at our Elizabeth Academy campus.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree and a Current UT Teaching License with a Special Education Endorsement or a Current Special Education Teaching License with a Mild/Moderate or Severe Endorsement.
- 5 years of special education experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess the ability to graciously accept responsibility, prioritize effectively and work harmoniously in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have strong leadership and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities will include:
- Support and guide Student Support Plan (SSP) and Student Success Team (SST) structures, facilitating the supervision of caseloads and intervention plans under the direction of the Special Education Director.
- Coach and provide guidance on the implementation of the academic and behavior SSPs and the SST processes.
- Collaborate with the Special Education Director to oversee specialized delivery of academic and behavior Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions and therapies.
- Coach special educators, interventionists, and teaching faculty on academic and behavior Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions and best practices.
- Ensure that Tier 1, 2, and 3 behavior management is implemented with fidelity.
- Provide instructional coaching.
- Teach, support, and model data collection practices.
- Teach and support file compliance and SSP software platform.
