What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP of Communications position at Elizabeth Gaye Foundation?
Oversees the creation and execution of internal and external communication programs.
Responsiblities
- Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan to advance EGFs brand identity; broaden awareness of its programs and priorities; and increase the visibility of its programs across key stakeholder audiences.
- Collaborate with the VP of Events, Social Media, and Marketing to increase the visibility of events across key stakeholder audiences.
- Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization. Work with the leadership team and volunteers to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions and define and execute strategies to support them.
- Serve as communications counselor to EGF’s BOD.
- Oversee development of all EGFs print communications including the annual report, marketing collateral materials and electronic communications.
- Collaborate with the CEO, DOO, and DOS.
- Serve as spokespersons and on media interactions that help promote and/or impact the organization.
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field (if currently in school, working towards one of these degrees).
- Creative and thoughtful on how new media technologies can be utilized
- Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with other VP’s and the BODs
- Extensive successful writing and editing skills
- 5-10 hours per month commitment to EGF
