SUMMARY:
The Transportation Specialist is responsible for providing daily transportation services for CSS consumers, completing documentation for billing purposes, reporting repairs, and maintaining records of ELC vehicles. This position reports directly to the Director of CSS Services or designee.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide daily transportation services to CSS consumers. Document the pick-up and drop-off times. Insure that riders complete and sign any necessary paperwork to comply with Medicaid consumer billing requirements.
- Prioritize and schedule trips outside of the regular daily transportation pick-up and drop-off times.
- Request trips/authorization from Medicaid Transportation on behalf of riders, confirm completion of trips and other paperwork/on-line data entry as required to assure billable trips for Medicaid consumers
- Complete required KDOT paperwork i.e., daily and weekly logs for compliance with KDOT guidelines for vehicle inspections and other duties as directed
- Purchase fuel and provide receipts to CSS Administrative Assistant in a timely manner
- Communicate maintenance needs or repairs in a timely manner
- Ability to retain relevant vital information and relay information to others as appropriate
- Maintains confidentiality of all client information
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee
- Complies with ELC policies and procedures
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a valid Kansas Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass background checks required to provide Medicaid Transportation services.
- Must be able to complete driver training programs required by KDOT, Medicaid Transportation and ELC.
- Must be able to pass a 10-level drug test as required for Medicaid Transportation.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
- Must manage schedule and arrive for appointments in a timely manner.
- Must be able to manage the paperwork in an accurate and timely manner associated with billing for Medicaid for transportation services.
- Ability to communicate directly and relate positively/cooperatively with co-workers and consumers
