CHEMISTRY TEACHER

Job Summary

We are looking for a full-time Chemistry Teacher for the 2025-26 Academic Year. The Chemistry Teacher plays a crucial role in educating students in various scientific disciplines. This is a 10-month position reporting to the Principal.

Responsibilities

• Create a classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership of learning that helps foster students intellectual, social, and emotional development.
• Provide daily instruction, including clear learning outcomes, well-designed lessons, and high-quality assessments aligned with ESHS curriculum and standards.
• Instruct students on proper lab techniques and safety procedures.
• Maintain and manage laboratory equipment and resources.
• Implement best practices in data-driven instruction, including inquiry and hands-on activities, demonstrations, lectures, and discussions.
• Communicate regularly with families to identify students talents, interests, and needs and update families regarding students achievements and progress.
• Collaborate with staff and the ESHS community in staff meetings, regular analysis sessions, and professional learning designed to enhance students' learning experience and increase student achievement.
• Act as a mentor and promote teamwork among students.
• Differentiate instruction to reach all learners.
• Identify the special needs of students and seek additional support, as needed.
• Maintain and submit necessary records, progress reports, and grade reports.
• Adhere to the professional and ethical standards as outlined in the ESHS Employee Handbook.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Strong communication skills for conveying complex scientific concepts to students and engaging with parents and colleagues.
• Encourage inquiry-based learning and guide students in conducting experiments and investigations.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Education with a focus on Science Education or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of the specific scientific disciplines being taught (Chemistry and Physics with an Environmental Science background).
• Valid teaching certificate or license in the relevant subject area preferred and/or willingness to obtain licensure.
• A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring students in the field of Science.

Salary Range:

• Based on skills and experience.
