The Dining Services Department at Elizabethtown College is currently accepting applications for a PM Dining Services Supervisor.
The PM Dining Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the evening closing procedures for all dining services operations and supervising the Jay’s Food Truck. This position ensures that all end-of-shift duties are completed efficiently and in compliance with food safety and operational standards. The supervisor is also responsible for all food truck related events. The ideal candidate must be highly communicative, meticulously organized team player who possesses a positive, problem-solving attitude and a passion for innovation.
Job Duties
Food Truck Supervisor
- Oversee daily operations of the food truck, including setup, service, and cleanup
- Utilize knives, cooking utensils, and all kitchen equipment effectively
- Maintain accurate inventory for the food truck and coordinate restocking as needed
- Work all food truck events, both on and off campus, ensuring efficient service and compliance with food safety regulations
- Support and supervise staff working in the food truck, providing guidance and troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Handle cash transactions, ensure proper change availability, and monitor cash drawer balances
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following “clean as you go” principles
- Adhere to and enforce food safety, sanitation, and equipment maintenance standards
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage, including coordinating break schedules
- Foster teamwork and a positive work environment, promoting quality service and communication within the dining services department
- Other duties as assigned
PM Dining Services Supervisor
- Act as person in charge (PIC) during scheduled shift. Ensuring compliance with ServSafe guidelines and FDA Food Code regulations
- Monitor food handling, storage, and sanitation practices to maintain a safe dining environment
- Enforce health and safety policies and address any violations or concerns
- Ensure all closing tasks are completed, including, but not limited to:
- Trash removal
- Proper food storage and labeling
- Cleaning and shutting down all equipment
- Conduct end-of-day inspections to verify cleaning standards are met
- Check in with the night cleaning crew to review expectations and address any issues
- Oversee and verify that all cash drawers are balanced and properly closed
- Achieve personal and team goals as assigned
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist other areas within Dining Services
- Assist with cleaning and sanitation duties
- Attend conferences to further education
- Conduct all responsibilities in a safe manner according to regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
Required Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED is required. Associate degree from an accredited culinary institute is preferred; plus two years of food service supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior knowledge of working in a food truck setting preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations
This position requires PA ServSafe certification and a valid driver’s license for business travel purposes (individual must have a US driver’s license for at least three years; a motor vehicle record check will be run and the incumbent must pass the College’s MVR rating system).
