Pay Rate: Starting at $15.00 per hour
Hours: Various hours based on the needs of the facility or program. Approximately 4 hour shifts between the hours of 5:45am and 9pm
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Admissions Manager or Pool Manager, responsible for providing quality customer service, collecting daily admissions, answering phone calls and general cleaning. The Cashier is responsible for performing the duties as outlined in this analysis. The Cashier is a part time employee working from 10 - 15 hours weekly. Work shifts are variable per day. They may be as long as 11 hours per day with scheduled breaks included. The Cashier may be hired as a year-round or seasonal employee. Work is performed at a self-controlled pace but may vary depending on the demands of the job.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Must posses a working knowledge of all aquatic facilities, programs, pricing and functions.
- Capable of giving current and correct information to a variety of patrons regarding all aquatic programs and pricing.
- Perform a number of varied general office tasks.
- Make decisions in accordance with established Park District policies while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Handle all aspects of registrations, collecting payment of fees, issuing receipts and maintaining records.
- Handle all aspects pertaining to point of sale, such as daily admissions, numerous fees and purchases, and make change.
- Keep attendance and other records as required.
- Maintain control of lobby area.
- Sell merchandise.
- Informs supervisor of merchandise to be ordered.
- Responsible for cleaning assigned by managerial staff.
- Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
- Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication skills and patience.
- Enjoys helping and serving people.
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
- Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
- Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience with cash register sales is desirable. General office skills, typing and computer literacy. Must have or be able to successfully complete CPR and First Aid Certification.
