What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art Instructor I - Part Time position at Elk Grove Park District?
Pay Rate: Starting at $15.00 per hour
(Also includes some Park District Facility/Program Usage Benefits)

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Art/Special Events Manager, the Art Instructor is responsible for creating and implementing art-based curriculum and leading students through various lessons
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Create and implement lessons for all ages
- Create example and Demonstrate project steps
- Assist students with projects including set-up and clean up
- Engage students in the creative process to help develop their skills
- Communicate effectively and professionally with participants, parents and staff
- Work within a budget
- Work with Arts/Events manager to devise age appropriate art projects that work with supplies available
- Perform the job safely and in compliance with District policies, procedures, work and safety rules, and the employee handbook
- Maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform other duties as directed by the Art/Special Events Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrate the ability to provide leadership
- Organized, creative, flexible, and effective communication skills
- Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Three to five years of experience in the art field and/or teaching
- College degree in Art or related field preferred but not required
