What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard - Part Time - Day Time Availability position at Elk Grove Park District?
Pay Rate: Starting at $16.00 per hour
Hours: 5:45am - 3:00pm
JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of our aquatic facilities by preventing and responding to emergencies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintain 10/20 scanning of zones of the pool area to ensure patrons safety and supervision at all times.
- Perform rescues and/or CPR with a high level of skill mastery.
- Attend 4 hours of in-service training per month to maintain certification requirements and improve upon all lifeguarding skills.
- Attend all required trainings
- Inspect lifeguard equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
- Assist in facility evacuations and/or crowd control for tornado warnings, fire alarms and EMS assistance as outlined in Emergency Action Plans
- Cleaning/maintenance of aquatic facilities.
- Enforce safety rules at aquatic facilities.
- Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
- Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
- Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees
- Must be 16 years of age or older
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have or be able to successfully complete certification by StarGuard Elite.
Must have or be able to successfully complete CPR and First Aid certification.
Must be able to successfully complete all job-related trainings and prerequisites.
