Mission
Our mission is “to protect life and property and to ensure the academic tranquility of the staff and students of the Elk Grove Unified School District.” The division works 24 hours a day, seven days a week to service the district’s schools, students, and staff.
The safety of students, staff, and visitors to all schools and support facilities in EGUSD is the Division of Safety and Security’s top priority.
The Division of Safety and Security provides:
- incident management
- security resources
- emergency plan development and training
- community outreach
- safety and security monitoring on-site and off-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) is the fifth-largest school district in California located in southern Sacramento County. EGUSD covers 320 square miles and includes 68 schools: 43 elementary schools, nine middle schools, nine high schools, five alternative education schools, an adult school, one charter school and a virtual academy.
