Job Summary
Over 7,000 students qualify for special education and related services in The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD). Our staff of teachers, instructional assistants, speech pathologists, special education coordinators, licensed school psychologists, and other related service specialists is dedicated to providing exceptional individualized services to students. According to both federal and state law, the goal of special education is to help students with disabilities become as independent as possible as they move through the grade levels. Furthermore, the law requires each student become employable, if possible, when they leave the educational setting. This may include opportunities to pursue post-high school education. Each program and service provided through special education is devoted to these goals.

- Certificate Copy (Valid certification issued by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT))
- Certification (Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification from the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT))
- Copy of Transcript (Associate of Science degree or higher from an accredited college or university with an educational program approved by CBOT and accredited by the American Occupational Therapy.)
- CPR / First Aid Certification (Valid First Aid, AED and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency)
- Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) current Letters of Recommendation.)
Comments and Other Information
In addition, Full Time Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist and Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, they will earn 23 days of vacation each school year.
Vacation accrual is prorated for less than full year and less than full time employees.
All accrued vacation is cashed out by the end of the school year. Please refer to the collectively bargained contract between Elk Grove Unified School District and National Union of Health Care Workers (NUHW).
