The Maintenance and Operations department ensures that the district’s schools and buildings are kept to a standard level of care that is conducive to learning. The department is responsible for landscape maintenance of district property, as well as painting and conducting repairs related to electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and alarm systems. The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) is the fifth-largest school district in California located in southern Sacramento County. EGUSD covers 320 square miles and includes 68 schools: 43 elementary schools, nine middle schools, nine high schools, five alternative education schools, an adult school, one charter school and a virtual academy.
