Primary Function of a One-to-One Aide:
To help create and maintain an environment that will enable the adolescent to make positive changes in attitude, values, and behavior through a group and individual treatment modality.
Responsibilities of a One-to-One Aide:
- Maintain a high standard of child-care during coverage, including documentation
- Maintain consistent supervision of assigned client
- Always provide a positive model
- Build positive, caring relationships with the youth
- Advocate the rights of the youth
- Assist with individual treatment sessions, with documentation
- Assist with family support sessions, both individual and group
- Assist the professional staff in working closely with referring agencies and parents, keeping them informed both verbally and in progress reports
- Work toward annual goals for personal and professional development
- Participate in a team setting with all staff
- Be a TEAM player, participate in staff development and leisure activities
- Work to promote an atmosphere of openness, honesty, and understanding among students, staff, and other persons associated with Elk Hill Farm, Inc.
- Demonstrate a high level of competence, motivation, and commitment as a staff member
- Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor or other designee
Minimal Requirement for the One-to-One Aide position:
- Possess a high school diploma or GED; experience with at-risk-youth preferred.
