Elk Rapids Engineering, a Star Cutter Company is a 4th generation family owned, globally recognized, manufacturer of custom round tools, hobs, and CNC Machinery. Our team is currently looking for a Electrical Machine Technician to join our first shift. This individual will be a part of the future success of the company by significantly contributing to processes necessary for the manufacturing and performance of on time, on quality, CNC tool and cutter grinders to our customers.

Job Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and wire electrical/pneumatics systems in new machinery, including working with control panels, motors, sensors, and other electrical components.
- Test electrical systems within machines to ensure functionality and safety, identify and troubleshoot electrical problems, making necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to the startup of CNC machinery.
- Interpret electrical/pneumatic schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents to accurately assemble and wire machinery.
- Assemble and install wire harnesses for machinery, ensuring accurate routing of wires to connect various electrical components and ensuring secure, organized cable management.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with industry standards and safety regulations including electrical codes and best practices.
- Ensure the quality of electrical installations and repairs, maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Keep accurate records of electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Colaborate with technicians, engineers, and other professionals to diagnose and solve complex electrical and mechanical issues in machinery. This often involves pooling expertise from different areas to find the most effective solutions.
Education and Experience:
- Strong manufacturing support knowledge and experience, with a minimum of 2 years' experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and panel layout drawings.
- Handle point to point wiring of controls, PLCs, relays, Interfaces and instrumentation.
- Proficient with soldering and wire harness assembly.
- Perform high voltage wiring as needed.
- Experience with 480 VAC, 230VAC and 24VDC and pneumatic circuits.
- Experience with common electrical tools to determine nominal voltage and aid in troubleshooting.
- Ability to operate on high voltage circuits within OSHA and company safety standards.
