We are seeking a dedicated Family Housing Service Coordinator to join our team. The Service Coordinator will play a crucial role in assisting individuals/families in crisis situations and providing support services to help them overcome housing challenges and assisting them.
Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis intervention services to individuals facing various challenges
- Conduct assessments to determine client needs and develop appropriate service plans
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients and promote positive change
- Collaborate with clients to set goals and create action plans for achieving them
- Coordinate referrals to community resources and services for additional support
- Maintain and organize cases in order to assist families in locating, obtaining, or retaining safe and suitable housing through necessary support services
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress
- Arrange for housing quality inspections
- Provide housing stability focused case management services related to meeting the housing needs of program families and helping them to prevent any episodes of homelessness
- Knowledge of budgeting, credit counseling, household management and employment support services
- Able to understand basic landlord/tenant rights and responsibilities
- Maintain and expand partner agency support
Requirements:
- Experience in crisis intervention and negotiation techniques
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices
- Familiarity with addiction counseling and supportive services
- Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and compliance
- Bachelor degree in human services or related field. Combination of education/experience is preferred
