CORRECTIONS INVESTIGATOR
DEPARTMENT: Sheriff’s Office
HIRING RANGE: $32.66-$46.95/hour based on education and position
related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

JOB SUMMARY:
The position of Corrections Investigator is Non-Merit and functions as an investigative person for the Sheriff’s Office that oversees an active caseload and whose job function is to take a case from initial report to successful prosecution. Offers guidance and direction to Corrections Officers and others in case investigation methods.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· High school graduate or equivalent; Associate degree or 60 college credit hours preferably in criminal justice or related field preferred
· 5 years Law Enforcement experience; one year patrol division preferred
· Maintain an active caseload and receive cases as assigned by the Investigative Division, Division Commander and/or Lieutenant
· Analyze information and evidence to determine relevance and importance; interview and or interrogate suspects, victims, witnesses, and other parties holding information
· Draft subpoenas and search warrants for further investigations; testify in court as directed
· Pre-employment background check (criminal and credit), polygraph and drug screen
