ELKHART COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL POSITION VACANCY NOTICE
SEASONAL MULITPURPOSE
DEPARTMENT: Highway
HIRING RATE: $18.00-$22.00/hour
BENEFITS OFFERED: No Benefits Offered
POSITION TO BE FILLED: ASAP
HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: 7:00am -3:30pm or as needed
LOCATION OF POSITION: Must be able to report to all Highway Garages
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Within County (please complete driving page on application)
JOB SUMMARY:
Duties include the operation of a variety of trucks, equipment, and hand tools; will primarily be involved in snow removal and highway maintenance; may work independently on assignments, although monitoring, review and oversight will be extensive to ensure employee is, or becomes, competent in duties, responsibilities, and assignments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma or GED
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Ability to operate a variety of equipment and hand/power tools in performance of duties, including, but not limited to, forklifts, trucks, hammers, screw drivers, wrenches, drills, air vices, power saws, air nozzles, air compressors, ratchets, files, mops, brooms, gauges, shovels, rakes, chain saws, weed eaters, and others as needed
· Pre-employment background check and drug screen
