Qualifications you'll bring:
- Must have a valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in good standing in TX
- Long term care experience preferred.
- Proven work experience as an Occupational Therapist Assistant.
- Plan and administer treatment to residents and patients with temporary or long term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing
- Assure all treatment is delivered in accordance with an established plan of care
- Provide clinical support and instruct patients, families, and caregivers
- Monitor patient response to treatment intervention
- Complete required forms and documentation in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist
- Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises and activities, to improve motor skills, coordination, and functional abilities
- Monitor and document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and strategies for improving daily living skills
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Knowledge of occupational health principles and practices
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred
- Familiarity with acute care settings and medical imaging techniques is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions for patient challenges
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Please note that certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant is required for this position.
