What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School High Ability Learner Education Advisor position at Elkhorn Public Schools?
Position Summary and Qualifications
- Serves as the lead for high ability learner programs across the District's three high schools in the development of high ability enrichment opportunities for high school students
- Systematically collaborates with high school core teachers to develop and facilitate course enrichment/extension activities to meet the needs of high ability students in the classroom
- Coordinates with elementary and middle school level high ability learner teachers to provide transition plans for high ability learners, including but not limited to personal learning plans that meet district criteria for acceleration
- Collaborates with high school counselors, Student Assistance Teams, and special education teachers to develop plans or interventions for high ability students with dual verifications or those underperforming
- Collaborates with core area teachers, extra duty sponsors, and activities directors to ensure supervision, leadership, and quality extra-curricular experiences and opportunities (Quiz Bowl, Robotics, Academic Decathlon, Olympus Club) or academic contests (i.e. USABO, Teams , AMC, UNL Math Day)
