Job Description Welder/Auto body Tech :
Elkington Motor Company is looking for a talented Welder/ Auto body tech to join the team in the journey to help shape the future of transportation. Job Summary:
Work closely with the Operations team to weld the platform, sub-platforms, and bodywork of the car we are designing and building. Prepare the bodywork on the cars being built in for painting the body. Work to eliminate waste in having to use body filler. Work with the Engineering team to create panels that do not need bodywork.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare bodies for near-perfect shapes for painting.
- Welding
- Shaping
- Work with Engineer and Assembly team to build prototypes
- Daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work area
Minimum Qualifications:
· Know how to Mig and tig weld.
·High attention to detail
· Able to work independently and within a team
· Friendly, punctual, reliable, and a positive attitude
· Come up with improvements, eliminate waste in your area, and video before and after
· Keep the area clean, and organized work environment
· Ability to lift & carry 50 pounds
Experience:
· 2-4 years of experience welding with experience with bodywork.
Required Preparation for employment:
· Provide a portfolio for review

· Able to use common hand tools (e.g., drills, wrenches, clamps, etc.)
· Regularly required to stand and move about the facility
· Required to be able to read documents and computer screens
