We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Administrator to join our team. As the ASC Administrator, you will plan, organize, and direct the business operations of the surgery center. Your role and responsibilities will be to effectively serve as the operational business leader of the ASC focusing on ensuring safe and efficient daily operations, fostering positive customer relations, leading business development, following business ethics, and risk and quality management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Responsible for guiding, managing, and overseeing personnel management from recruitment to termination, state and federal labor laws, and required documentation.
- Identify and incorporate federal and state labor laws into personnel policies and procedures.
- Lead by example; professional behavior, code of conduct, and performance.
- Identify, educate, and implement safeguards to protect employees from workplace hazards.
Maintain governance, licensure, certification, and accreditation.
- Assess compliance with operating agreement, medical staff bylaws, and facility policies and procedures.
- Assess compliance with credentialing, privileging, and peer review processes.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and processes compliant with federal, state, and accreditation requirements
Overseeing quality assessment and performance improvement program in a systematic, ongoing manner from setting annual quality improvement goals to prioritizing performance improvement projects, analyzing, and reporting the results.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a quality management program.
- Discuss and implement the licensure, certification, and accreditation quality reporting process and requirements.
- Utilize performance improvement study models and tools. Analyze and report the results of performance improvement studies
Implement a systematic approach for reducing, eliminating, and managing all types of risk exposures
- Engage in risk management activities that meet regulatory requirements, contribute to safe patient care, increase efficiency and effectiveness, and reduce the risk of financial loss and legal liability.
- Develop, implement, and manage risk management activities including adverse event reporting system and compliance program.
- Promote a culture of safety.
Oversees Facility Management and Emergency Preparedness
- Monitoring, maintenance, and inspection of the ASC physical environment including the building and all equipment to ensure the safety of patients, employees, and visitors.
- Identify compliance with life safety code, medical waste contracts and local, state, and federal laws. (Examples: OSHA, CMS, NFPA codes, FGI guidelines).
- Maintain requirements for disaster/emergency preparedness plan including review of emergency drills and response.
- Oversees the role and responsibilities of facility maintenance.
Responsible for monitoring the company’s financial performance, evaluating the various costs associated with ASC operations, monitoring revenue, and establishing cash flow practices.
Responsible for monitoring supply chain processes, inventory control, negotiating vendor and payer contracts, case costing analysis, and market strategies for planning expansion or growth
- Oversees the role and responsibilities of the material manager.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborates effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, administrators, and support staff, to achieve quality goals.
- Actively participates in committees and communicates performance metrics, initiatives, and outcomes to leadership, staff, and stakeholders.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality management, performance improvement, or healthcare administration
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in an ASC or outpatient surgical setting.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare administration or related field
- Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards relevant to ASCs (AAAHC).
