Job Title: Golf Course Grounds Crew Member
Job Summary:
The Golf Course Grounds Crew Member works under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent to maintain the overall appearance and playability of the golf course. This position involves performing a variety of landscaping and maintenance tasks to ensure the course is in top condition for golfers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Turf Maintenance: Mow fairways, greens, roughs, and tee boxes using specialized equipment while ensuring a consistent turf quality.
- Irrigation & Drainage: Assist with operating, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution and drainage.
- Landscaping & Grounds Care: Trim trees, prune shrubs, plant flowers, and remove debris to maintain a visually appealing and safe course.
- Bunker & Hazard Maintenance: Rake and repair sand traps, water hazards, and other course features to maintain optimal playing conditions.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Safely operate and maintain mowers, blowers, trimmers, aerators, and other landscaping tools, reporting any mechanical issues.
- Pest & Weed Control: Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides as directed, following safety guidelines to promote healthy turf conditions.
- Course Setup: Assist in setting up tee markers, hole locations, and other course elements for daily play and tournaments.
- Winter Maintenance: Perform snow removal, cover greens, and maintain course features during the offseason, if applicable.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or golf course maintenance is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems, and landscaping techniques is a plus.
- Ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment safely.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards for course appearance.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- A valid driver’s license may be required.
