Experienced Pipelayer - Commercial Underground Wet Utilities

Ella SA Contracting is hiring Experienced Pipelayers with Commercial Underground Wet Utilities to join our hardworking team. We take pride in our willingness to go the extra mile on every project. Our scope of work includes wet utilities, water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, Site work, and Concrete services.

As a Pipelayer at Ella, you will be responsible for preparing and installing underground pipelines within water, storm, and sanitary sewers. You will work safely and effectively with an underground utility crew to ensure the timely completion of excavation, utility, and concrete projects.

Responsibilities

• Install sanitary sewer, storm water sewer and consumable water structures and pipe systems
• Lay out pipe routes, following specifications or blueprints, and coordinating layouts with supervisor
• Cut pipes to required lengths
• Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
• Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing
• Check slopes for conformance to requirements using levels or lasers
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement or glue
• Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices
• Cover pipes with earth or other materials
• Grade and level trench bases using tamping machines and hand tools
• Intimate and working knowledge of industry-standard hand signals
• Train others in pipe-laying techniques
• Other general labor and construction-related duties as required
  
  

Physical Requirements

• All work is performed outside in heat, cold, and inclement weather.
• Standing, Walking, Climbing, stooping and bending
• Periodic lifting of 50 pounds
• Exposure to all elements of terrains, loud noise, fumes, odors, gasses, dust, etc.
• Work in close proximity to heavy traffic
