What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Project Director position at Ellaway Blues Consulting?
We are currently looking to hire a Construction Project Director for one of our clients based in Austin, TX. The client is a leading player in the construction management space and offer tailored solutions, supported by advanced construction management systems, to a range of market sectors from aviation all the way through to multi-family. This is a leadership role that will be responsible for projects typically ranging from $20m to $300m in their Education sector, such as K-12 and University buildings.
This position will work closely with school districts, architects, and construction teams to deliver safe innovative projects that inspire creativity and enrich communities. The role will have responsibility for areas such as Program Management, Operational Excellence, Talent Development & Management and Client Management. They are looking for a technically advanced, compassionate, and collaborative leader who will have full autonomy for running multiple projects at any given time.
Key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Ensure compliance and operational excellence in areas such as contract review, estimating, business unit turnover coordination, risk management, and performance
- Support project bidding processes, including reviewing bid requirements, assisting with team assignments, reviewing scope coverage, contributing to bid schedule development, and creating general conditions budgets
- Participate in successful project buyout
- Provide feedback to Estimating/Pre-Construction for use in future bids or negotiations
- Participate in the recruitment, training, review, and supervision of project personnel; contribute to the selection, training, and development of key positions
- Foster learning and development partnerships with team members to support career growth
- Maintain and expand existing client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for new and existing accounts
- Collaborate with Business Unit Leaders and Business Development Managers to identify new account and project opportunities by market sector and geography; contribute to the development of Account Plans
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal and presentation development; work closely with the Business Development Manager and Marketing team to craft appropriate narratives and review deliverables
