What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Manager position at Ellaway Blues Consulting?
We are currently looking to hire a Plant Manager for one of our clients based in Florida who are at the forefront of the Power Generation space across the US. The business has a range of generation units across the power generation value chain which includes Fossil, Nuclear and Solar. The Plant Manager position reports directly into an Executive leader and as such will offer the individual an opportunity to rapid career progression as the business continues to thrive and grow their Power output.
The Plant Manager will be entrusted with the overall management of one of their flagship power plants and have full responsibility for driving best in class safety and environmental performance. Specific areas such as operational management, plant reliability, maintenance management, performance and team leadership are key to successfully operating in this role.
Some of the key responsibilities are as follows.
- Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures.
- Provides leadership in all aspects of operation and maintenance
- Manages the technical performance of the plant
- Develops and manages site budget
- Maintain a clean and safe plant environment.
- Establish and direct plant policies and procedures.
- Ensure that power production efficiency, quality, and performance are maintained at high levels.
- Conduct performance reviews of team members to ensure productivity and identify areas needing improvement.
- Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, and manpower.
- Establish and monitor plant’s performance standards.
- Manage preventive maintenance programs and ensure schedules are adhered to in order to minimize downtime.
- Implement and enforce comprehensive safety programs.
To be successful in the role you will need at least 7 years of experience working in a Power Plant, preferably Fossil, alongside 5 years of leadership experience. You will need to have strong leadership skills/experience and the ability to communicate upwards is also critical.
