We are seeking a Project Manager to join a dynamic and growing organization striving to make the world a better place. The company specializes in providing innovative services and equipment solutions to the global energy industry. Due to rapid growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are building an integrated EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) team to deliver high-impact energy projects.
In this role, you will report to the VP of Engineering and will be responsible for managing project scope, timelines, and budgets. You will lead a diverse team of engineers to ensure the successful execution of multi-disciplinary projects. Initially, you will oversee third-party engineering efforts, with the opportunity to help build and guide an in-house engineering team. Project Manager’s Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Manage the scope, budget, and schedule of multiple projects, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary engineering team, ensuring effective coordination across technical disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, structural, and process).
- Client Interaction: Build and maintain strong client relationships, manage expectations, respond to RFIs, review deliverables, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Engineering Oversight: Initially manage third-party engineering efforts, ensuring high-quality design and system integration. As the internal team grows, transition responsibilities to an in-house engineering team.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Foster cross-functional collaboration, addressing any obstacles to ensure projects remain on track in terms of budget and timeline.
- Team Development: Cultivate a high-performance culture by mentoring team members, sharing technical knowledge, and providing professional growth opportunities.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project quality, efficiency, and overall team performance.
- Effective Communication: Provide regular project updates to senior leadership and ensure clear communication within the project team to align on goals and expectations.
Project Manager’s Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience in engineering, with 2 years in a project management or leadership role in an EPC environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with project controls, scheduling, and managing project data.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on team collaboration and mentoring.
- Comfortable with client-facing interactions, managing change orders, and ensuring successful project execution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or similar).
- Familiarity with engineering and design software (e.g., E3D, SmartPlant, Tekla, MathCAD).
- Experience with document control systems such as Aconex.
- Knowledge of procurement and contract management practices.
- Understanding of project controls and estimating processes.
- Experience in process optimization and continuous improvement efforts.
