Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Provide medication management and monitor patient responses to treatment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and primary care providers.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Perform specimen collection processing and coordinate necessary laboratory tests.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on best practices in psychiatric care.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with board certification in psychiatric nursing.
- Experience working in outpatient settings.
- Strong understanding of laboratory processes related to mental health assessments.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients.
- Proficiency in Spanish speaking.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Familiarity with various psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Participating in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest therapeutic practices.
- Shadow students and assist with their professional development.
- Assist with administrative tasks.
- Working alongside the guidance and direction of the clinical Supervisor.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in psychotherapy and mental health counselling.
