Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - PMHNP-BC

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing comprehensive mental health care to patients in outpatient settings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care, possess excellent diagnostic skills, and have experience in managing a variety of psychiatric conditions.

Schedule

• Mon - Fri.
• 8 AM - 5 PM
• Weekend and evening as needed

• Pediatrics and geriatrics

• Must speak Spanish and English

Duties

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for patients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Provide medication management and monitor patient responses to treatment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and primary care providers.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Perform specimen collection processing and coordinate necessary laboratory tests.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records.
• Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on best practices in psychiatric care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
• Valid Nurse Practitioner license with board certification in psychiatric nursing.
• Experience working in outpatient settings.
• Strong understanding of laboratory processes related to mental health assessments.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients.
• Proficiency in Spanish speaking.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
• Familiarity with various psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities.
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Participating in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest therapeutic practices.
• Shadow students and assist with their professional development.
• Assist with administrative tasks.
• Working alongside the guidance and direction of the clinical Supervisor.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in psychotherapy and mental health counselling.
