Position Summary:
As Associate Director, you’re responsible for collaborating with leadership on the development and execution of strategic initiatives for our clients. With the support of your leadership team, you’ll start to lead multiple client projects, including client management and managing and monitoring the team on KPI delivery, while also continuing to work as a senior support team member on other projects.
In this role, you will own client initiatives where applicable delegating work across the team and serving as a subject matter expert. You’ll work alongside the Vice President and/or Managing Director(s), Director(s) and Senior Account Executive(s) to ensure team members have what they need to be successful in their roles.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Showcase expertise: Utilize your knowledge of the social and racial justice, climate, business, and political/policy spaces to drive forward important narratives and results for your clients.
- Collaborate on the PR strategy: Collaborate with leadership to ensure an effective and creative strategy is always in place and being proactively implemented for each client. Regularly report back to your leadership team on progress and impact.
- Manage client relationships to surpass your goals: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with the agency’s work and fostering long-term partnerships. Work closely with our clients to understand how PR will be most effective in supporting their organizational priorities, and keep attention to detail in order to ensure our client's goals are met.
- Guide a team to success: Ensure that members of your project teams are set up for success, and work closely between them and Elle’s leadership to identify ways they can grow and succeed. Coach and support team members on client projects and KPI delivery
- Project management: Oversee project management for all of the projects you are assigned to lead to ensure the agency’s timelines and goals are met.
- Secure top-tier coverage: Bring in top-tier coverage to meet critical client business and communicate goals.
- Thought leadership: Provide thought leadership and industry insights to the agency’s leadership team and clients.
- Business development support and learning: As part of your continuing development, you’ll likely collaborate with senior leaders on the creation of potential client proposals and sit in on select relevant business development meetings.

- Relational Management: You work through conflict to achieve productive outcomes and appropriately escalate concerns. You give others the benefit of the doubt and approach situations with curiosity.
QUALIFICATIONS
- (Preferred) Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- (Preferred) 6-8 years of experience in PR strategy, with a proven track record of success in managing complex PR initiatives.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex PR concepts to clients and internal teams.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively, with a focus on delivering results.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Based in or near LA or NYC office.
