POSITION: ESD Swim Program Coordinator for the 24-25 school year
LOCATION: Ellensburg City Pool
REPORTS TO: Facilities Coordinator
Purpose
To supervise and coordinate all aspects of the ESD Swim Lesson Program for 1st
grade students.
Responsibilities
-Recruiting and coordinating the hiring process for Swim Instructors
-Providing required training for the Swim Instructors
-Coordinating schedules for the Swim Instructors to ensure that adequate student
instruction and supervision is provided at all Swim Sessions
-Create and update program materials and presentations
-Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Student Services.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships and interact
successfully with school district staff, 1st/3rd grade students, parents and
community members
-Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and accept the
responsibility of providing effective leadership
-Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters in an ethical manner
-Demonstrated strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
-Demonstrated ability to produce and maintain accurate records
-Demonstrated ability to remain flexible to change
-Bilingual skills preferred
Qualifications
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Possesses current CPR and First Aid training
-Previous experience working as a swim instructor or an aquatic setting
-American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor License (Certification)
-American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification
-Must qualify to work in the proximity of children under the conditions of a WSP/FBI background check
