What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Assistant Manager position at Ellicott Development?
Aloft Buffalo Downtown & 500 Pearl Meeting and Banquet Facility is now in search of a Banquet Assistant Manager to assist the Director of Banquet Events and his/her team in providing exceptional service to banquet and event guests. This Marriott Select Service, high end, mix use facility will feature 17,000 sq ft of flexible meeting & banquet space plus multiple food and beverage centers within the facility.
The Banquet Assistant Manager is the next step for an experienced banquet server or an entry level management position that assists in leading the banquet staff while personally assisting in executing events based on requirements and standards. Assists in developing and directing the banquet team to provide consistent, high quality service to all clients, guests and vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in managing departmental inventories and assets including par levels and maintenance of equipment.
- Maintains and enforces established sanitation levels.
- Adheres to and reinforces all standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with the supply, inventory, stocking, organization and ordering of supplies for the department (e.g., china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props, and other service equipment needs) as directed by the Director of Banquet Events
Participating in and Assisting in Leading Banquet Teams
- Attends and participates in BEO and all pertinent departmental meetings.
- Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events.
- Guide the Banquet servers/captains in set up of tables and place settings.
- Assist with the Detail meeting process with sales when applicable.
- Possess Full knowledge of all beverage on premise, cocktail/beer/wine/bottle menus
- Be familiar with all current and upcoming event details.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least two years of Banquet Service management
- Must have good food and beverage knowledge, and a very high level of Banquet Service experience.
- Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task, and coordinate all aspects of an event
- Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, clients and vendors.
- Able to work a flexible schedule in order to accommodate business levels including weekends.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Previous leadership experience in hospitality strongly preferred

Pay: $19.00 - $30.00 per hour
