Summary : Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Director of Behavioral Health provides administrative direction and coordination of Behavioral Health services and providers and staff. The Director of Behavioral Health develops and implements strategic plans to grow, maintain, and structure behavioral health services, and collaborates in a process of integrated care with other medical team members to strengthen the overall health and wellness of patients.Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Develop and implement programs focused on mental and behavioral health services to meet the needs of prospective and existing patients.Provide input and support for program service philosophy, including knowledge of trends within service area, to further enhance program offerings.Collaborates with Medical Director, department leaders and directors, providers, and executives for program planning and coordination, process improvement, and strategic planning and goal setting in relation to behavioral health services and integrated care.Facilitates behavioral health meetings, collaborate with PCPs and PMHPs to discuss program policies / procedures, coordinating services, provider education, and patient cases.Participates in the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) team meetings.Develops and monitors processes to meet and exceed the established department goals and target quality metrics.Work closely with CFO and Finance Department to review, implement, and monitor program budget through authorizing expenditures, monitoring trends, ensuring compliance with funding source guidelines, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements of funding sources.Works closely with Human Resources during recruitment process, candidate selection, and onboarding and training.Develops strategic plans for Behavioral Health staff development and actively engages and coaches Behavioral Health staff through performance management.Communicates with Outreach team and participates in agency community outreach events, including events specific to integrated care, mental health, behavioral health, whole-health wellness, and other focal points relevant to mental and behavioral health services.Present to agencies, professional organizations, and community members on topics related, but not limited to, behavioral and mental health awareness, services offered, benefits of integrated care, and mental wellness.This position may include provision of services and interaction with patients, within scope of practice.Education / Experience : Requires a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Psychologist or M.D. or D.O. with experience in PsychiatryLicensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Psychologist must have and maintain a current License from the State of MichiganM.D. or D.O. must have and maintain a current Controlled Substances Registration Certificate from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.M.D. or D.O. must have and maintain a current Physician License and Controlled Substance License from the State of Michigan.Specialized Training : Recipient rights trainingPerson-centered planning trainingBehavior management and crisis management trainingCertificates and Licenses : LMSW, LPC, APNP, or PA strongly preferred.
