About The Job
- The practice of radiography is performed by a segment of health care professionals responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. A multimodality technologist performs radiographic and CT Scan procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, or by the request of, a licensed independent practitioner.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all radiographic and CT Scan equipment within the department.
- Prepares and positions patient for CT and X-Ray procedures according to the procedure manual.
- Adjusts technical factors in proportion to patient and body part being examined while minimizing radiation.
- Prepares and/or administers contrast media, i.e., orally, IV, rectally.
- Checks patient charts for lab results and allergies prior to the administration of IV contrast.
- Provides radiation protection to patient, staff and self according to prescribed safety standards.
- Graduate of an accredited educational program in radiography, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine technology, Required
- Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Certification, Required
- ARRT (CT) certification, Required within 24 months of hire
- ARRT (Rad Tech) certification, Required
- Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment
