Responsibilities
- Greet customers upon arrival and assess their service needs.
- Provide detailed explanations of services required, including necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to accurately diagnose issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Prepare service estimates and maintain accurate records of services provided.
- Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to ensure timely completion of services.
- Follow up with customers regarding their vehicle status and address any concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized service area, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Upsell additional services or products based on customer needs and preferences.
- Foster long-term relationships with customers through exceptional customer service.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive repair or related fields such as mechanic or auto body repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly in diesel engine repair and air brake systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building rapport with clients.
- Experience in sales or automotive sales is preferred but not required.
- Proficient in service writing, including creating detailed work orders and estimates.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical information clearly.
- A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications in automotive repair are a plus.
