Overview
Lead the development of global and/or local strategic sourcing strategies for the assigned category and the associated commodities that fall within that category. Categories will contain a large spend level across a diverse set of commodities. Work with the supply chain team and other functional groups (e.g., sales, engineering, projects, etc.) to identify spend forecasts, assess current suppliers, and identify needs for new suppliers. Develop sourcing strategies accordingly and negotiate global and/or local strategic contracts with suppliers in each commodity.
Responsibilities
- Leverage the buying power of Ebara and all subsidiaries to maximize savings on spend (direct and indirect).
- Engage with suppliers to develop global master purchasing agreements and partnerships. Work with all regions and Ebara subsidiaries to understand requirements prior to signing new agreements. Identify and develop new and existing suppliers to fill gaps in the commodity strategies.
- Challenge existing suppliers to improve quality of services and goods. Work under limited direction of executive staff to implement best practice policies and procedures, responding to new, unfamiliar and original situations. Correlate economic, competitive, and company data in strategic supplies to support the future state of Ebara.
- Job requires frequent communication with the procurement team, quality team, engineering and operations. Will also require frequent contact with suppliers, principally at a management level.
- Develop and then implement global and/or local sourcing strategies.
- Lead, develop and implement global and/or local cost reduction programs.
- Develop and coordinate with buyers to implement commodity strategies and cost improvement programs.
- Evaluate recommendations from cross-functional personnel in regard to new sources of supply.
- Lead negotiations of strategic contracts including the negotiation of price, quality and delivery.
- Collaborates with Supply Chain Development to identify sourcing gaps and to assess potential new suppliers.
- Travel to supplier facilities to build relationships, conduct negotiations and evaluate performance.
- Collaborate with Sales and Applications Engineering to develop competitive offers to customers and ensure the best total cost of ownership, quality and delivery.
- Coordinate with regional procurement teams to effectively implement the sourcing strategies and gather feedback.
- Coordinate with global supply chain development team to identify and develop new and existing suppliers to fill gaps in the category and commodity strategies.
- Job requires frequent communication with the procurement team, quality team, sales and applications engineering. Will also require frequent contact with global and/or local suppliers, principally at a management level.
- This position requires leading and participating in global cross-functional teams. Travel requirement could be frequent for global assignments and typically of one week duration.
- Coordinate with global supply chain development team to identify and develop new and existing suppliers to fill gaps in the category and commodity strategies.

- Lead, develop and implement global cost reduction programs.
- Travel requirement expected to be 20%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required, Master's Degree in business or finance is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years buying experience
- The individual must have excellent general background in all phases of procurement and strong financial/commercial acumen.
- Strong leadership to work with cross-functional, global teams to develop robust category and commodity strategies.
- Strong business acumen to enable development and negotiation of value-adding strategic sourcing agreements.
