PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide a structured approach to decision making, resource allocation, risk management and to ensure all operational activities are aligned with overall goals pertaining to capacity planning, efficiencies, and project execution.
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
- B.S. degree in business or 5 associate years of experience.
- Need excellent communication skills due to interaction with many other department personnel.
- Knowledge of the Elliott product lines, manufacturing requirements, internal and external (preferred).
- Knowledge of processes from order entry to shipment.
- Knowledge of planning and how it affects inventory in addition as how it effects on-time shipments.
- High degree of expertise and knowledge of ERP system utilizing MRP and capacity management systems.
- Need computer skills and knowledge of associate software.
NATURE OF THE JOB
- This is a managerial position that is responsible for policies, procedures, and controls that apply to all corporate inventory functions and projects.
- Directs activities related to the ordering, scheduling, and controlling of all corporate inventory and planning.
- Works with Program Managers, Planners, members of Production Control, Operations, Projects, Supply Chain, Drafting, Engineering, and Quality on the forecasting, planning, and execution of projects.
- Conducting analysis of data, forecasting of capacity, developing guidelines for sourcing of parts and directing the implementation of these decisions.
- Assists in physical inventory and obsolescence activities, yearly or through other cycle counting methods.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES
- In conjunction with Project Manager, Program Manager, and Drafting establish ship dates according to job content and capacity availability.
- Monitor intermediate schedule points within the project plan, which support the scheduled shipping dates: i.e., drafting, drawing schedules, engineering releases, and purchase requisitions.
- Issue reports to prioritize work for various departments (i.e. supply chain, drafting, etc.).
- Track and expedite those activities previously scheduled to assure the best performance to the schedule: i.e. Engineering, Drafting, and Purchasing
- Reviews inventory levels to use up or disposition of materials in obsolescence and excess materials from previous job. Maintain a database on excess parts to be re-used on future orders.
- Manage BOM migration from engineering module to MRP module.
- Establish capacity reports for all work centers for visibility of load for planning.
- Utilize the RCCP (Rough Cut Capacity Planning) Module to help predict bottleneck work centers, predict outsourcing needs, and overtime or shift realignment.
- Establish hours for work centers for the monitoring of efficiencies.
- Monitor signal reports
- Monitor MRB reports
- Monitor incoming receiving reports.
- Monitor POs late to receiving
- Produce exception reports.
