Position Title: Special Education Coordinator
Location: Elliott Elementary School
Elliott Elementary School is seeking a Special Education Coordinator who will share in the total range of administrative responsibilities. Individuals interested will be asked to articulate their vision for leading effective instructional programing, establishing relationships, and maintaining a positive school culture. Individuals should be prepared to emphasize how they plan to work as a member of a highly collaborative team to support the personal growth and academic achievement of all students in a culturally rich school community.
The essential job duties of this position will include: serve as the liaison between the school and the district special education office, participate in the hiring of staff, appraisal of teachers, oversee special education programming, and serve as district representative for MDT/IEPs.
A strong candidate for this position would have exceptional communication and decision making skills, thorough knowledge with curriculum, academic/behavioral interventions, and special education programming, as well as the skill set to utilize data to drive instruction and systems of support.
Ability to create strong relationships with all students, willingness to serve the community in all aspects, learner in the art and science of teaching, a reflective educator, an individual who understands the practices of cultural proficiency and applies those practices with all stakeholders.
This position is subject to a veterans preference.
